Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiThe name of the company is Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to get a flawless score of 10 during the Olympic competition. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci when she was six. She later became the gymnastics coach of Romania. She first competed in the junior national championships in 1969 placing 13th and she did well in the 1970 competition. When she competed in her first international contest in 1972, which was a pre Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she was awarded three gold medals while in 1973 and 1974 she was all-around junior champion. She defeated the Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva, the five-time European Champion at her first senior international competition held in 1975. In the event, she won four golds and a silver. In 1976, she was the first female to do reverse double salos using the bar with a parallel unevenness as part of her demount. She was the winner at the American Cup, held in New York City. In her teens, she began performing in traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th September 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her journey into the entertainment business during her teens. At the age of 13 Carol started out as a figure skater in the traveling show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The show featured dramatized ice skating performances.
