Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb co-hosted TODAY's fourth time slot between 2008 and April 5th 2019, in both cases. Entertainment Weekly has referred to the Gifford/Kotb time as time-based television. USA Today has dubbed TODAY's happy hour. Gifford wrote TODAY the Musical, which was a highly-acclaimed musical with host and crew of the show.
