April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4th in 1995. As a seventh-grade student she began taking guitar lessons and piano lessons. It was this that ignited her love for songwriting. At the age of 12 She composed her debut single, Different. The singer spent much of her the time of 14 composing songs and experimenting with music. She started writing songs alongside her father in NY and LA soon after. April began including other topics in Take My Hand for her friends who were dealing in the face of peer pressure, disability or even suicide. Lockhart is also gaining a growing following as a lifestyle influencer and is employed by the renowned Clean Beauty company Ilia. She was born without a left hand, and it creates her unique. However, this isn't the only characteristic of her. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't hide her disability but doesn't focus solely on it. What message does it convey? It's crucial to understand that we all have multiple faces. Our identities are diverse and we're more than our bodies. It's not my intention to let that be the only thing that defines me. I don't wish to become a disability influencer where that's all I talk about because there are other aspects to my life. Lockhart speaks via video from her house in Nashville. This doesn't interfere with my everyday life. Everything is normal and I've learned to adjust. In addition, I see it a very important aspect of me. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon however Lockhart truly inspires me on that front. She has gone through phases where she felt uncomfortable in the way she dressed and displayed her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she'd like. And she posts her photos on social media. Self-love, according to her, is a kind of journey. "I don't think you will ever be in that place," she said. It's a fact that I see for everyone, whatever the source of their anxiety. It is important to have people in your life who know and can relate to your situation. They will be the ones who ask what you worry about?
